Equine Training Programs

Virtual Lessons
Expert Guidance, No Matter the Distance.
Whether you are located outside of Central Oregon or simply need a quick "tune-up" between in-person sessions, virtual lessons allow us to maintain consistency in your horse’s progress. These sessions are perfect for refining your Western Pleasure cues, working through trail obstacles, or continuing a desensitization program.
How it Works:
-
Live Coaching: Using tools like Pivo or a handheld device with a headset, I can coach you in real-time as you ride or work from the ground.
-
Video Review: Record your training session and send it over. I’ll provide a detailed time-stamped breakdown with actionable feedback and "homework" for your next ride.

Tune Ups & Post-Rehab Conditioning.
Maintenance and conditioning are essential for your horse’s long-term physical and mental well-being. Whether your partner has been out of work for a season or is transitioning back into a routine following veterinary care, a structured conditioning plan helps rebuild balance, coordination, and core strength.
-
Our Approach: We focus on low-impact, restorative exercises that encourage proper self-carriage and suppleness.
-
Collaborative Care: I work closely with you—and can consult with your veterinarian or farrier—to create a personalized movement program that respects your horse's current fitness level.
-
The Results: Through consistent, thoughtful work, we aim to help your horse move with more comfort and confidence, setting them up for a longer, healthier career in any discipline.

Movement Evaluations
Identify Tension. Improve Performance. Enhance Wellness.
Not every hurdle in training is a behavioral one; often, it’s a physical conversation your horse is trying to have. My movement evaluations are designed to deep-dive into your horse's biomechanics to identify areas of tension, compensation, or restricted range of motion.
What we look for: Symmetry in gaits, postural habits, and specific "hot spots" of muscular tightness.
Now Available Virtually: You can now book a remote evaluation! Simply submit a series of specific videos (instructions provided upon booking), and we will schedule a one-on-one video consultation to review the findings together.
The Goal: To provide you with a movement roadmap. This may include specialized massage therapy, targeted conditioning exercises to improve top-line strength, or suggestions to review with your veterinarian to enhance your horse's overall wellness plan.

In-Person Lessons
My in-person coaching is designed for riders who want to move beyond "correcting" their horse and start conversing with them. While my primary background is in Western Pleasure and Trail Course obstacles, I work with horse-and-rider pairs across all disciplines who are looking to refine their communication and athletic potential.
Every lesson begins with an eye toward biomechanics—ensuring your horse is physically capable of the movement we are asking for. Using force-free techniques and positive reinforcement, we’ll focus on:
-
Refining Cues: Softening the conversation between hand, leg, and seat.
-
Problem Solving: Addressing "stubborn" behaviors by investigating the underlying physical or mental root.
-
Confidence Building: Navigating trail obstacles or new maneuvers with a calm, focused partner.
Whether you’re prepping for the show ring or simply want a more harmonious Sunday ride, my goal is to leave you with a clearer understanding of your horse’s needs and a "toolbox" of exercises to keep you both progressing.
